Do it Yourself Solar System - Solar Power Made Easy, and Much Cheaper Too!

Ever looked into purchasing a solar power system for your home? Ever searched the internet for those "do it yourself solar system" kits, just to find a solar dealer that put together a package that costs about ,000, ships you the materials, and you are on your own?

Soldering Kit

That is a daunting task even for the most handy of do it yoursefer's, as you do not receive any type plan or considerations to build such a system, let alone be cost effective.

Soldering Kit

There are definitely some things to consider from a do it yourself standpoint before considering installing a do it yourself solar system.

Are you willing to climb on your roof to install solar panels? Spending time on your roof is part of the process of building a solar power system. The hardest part is actually getting up there. Once you can get over that, the installation of the solar panel is a breeze. It is as simple as connecting the brackets to a support beam in the roof, and connecting the solar panels to the brackets.

Do you have an open view to the south on your roof for maximum solar exposure? In order for photovoltaic cells to produce the most electricity for your home, they must face the southern sky. If you have large trees blocking the way, then alternatives can be considered, such as building a solar stand that has an unobstructed view of the southern sky for maximum exposure.

Are you willing to save money by building your own solar panels? This is a no-brainer, as the cost of building a solar panel can be done for about 0, if you shop around properly, and purchase bulk lots of solar cells off of the internet. I once found a bulk lot of 72 solar cells for about . That's more than enough solar cells to start your do it yourself solar system, and this price pales in comparison to the hundreds, even thousands of dollars a manufactured panel costs.
Can you follow step by step directions and videos?

If you answered yes to the above questions, then you are well on your way to building your own solar power system for your home.

There are many do it yourself solar system designs on the market today, all of which are designed to take the guesswork out of building solar panels, installing the solar panels, and wiring the solar panel systems into your home for a fraction of the cost of purchasing ready-made solar panels, and having someone come to your home to install them.

I made my first attempt at building a solar panel, and it was much easier than I anticipated. Once I ordered my materials (the solar cells) and picked up a little bit of parts from my local hardware store, the construction was very simple. First I measured the size and arrangement of the solar cells. From there, I got my dimensions to build the frame to mount the solar cells. Next the frame was actually constructed. The next step, which was the toughest (and at the same time, was still easy), was soldering the solar cells together. This was about as tricky as using a hot glue gun and making a relatively straight line. Once I got the solar cells all pieced together, I added them to the frame and secured them. After that, the solar cells were wired together, and the cover to the frame was added. Voila! A solar panel. I tested it, and it was generating the necessary wattage (18 volts) and was working fine.

All of this took me about 6 hours to do, since it was my first one, and a cost of about 0. This definitely did not take very long, and once the solar cell is connected into my house wiring, it will take maybe two months of generating electricity for the solar panel to pay for itself. Not too bad!

I was shocked, but I realized that a do it yourself solar system is definitely within anyone's reach, as I am not the most "handyman" of people to begin with. I'll soon be building my second solar panel to add to my do it yourself solar system, and be on my way to making a huge dent in my electric bill.

Used Toner Cartridges: Think Before You Throw It Away

Are you the part of a huge corporate firm that prints thousands of documents by the day and disposes its used toner cartridges at the end of the day? Do you often find that your printer cartridge has run out of toner/ink and throw the used toner cartridge or ink cartridge immediately in the garbage? Does your store room have a countless number of used printer cartridges lying idly? If your answer to one of the above posed questions is yes, then we urge you to think! Think about the number of ways to utilize your used toner cartridges! In this article, we will suggest a few of the many methods you can employ to ensure that your used toner cartridges do not end up littering your house or worse, end up in the dump yard.

Soldering Kit

1. Refill
Most machines allow refilling of cartridge but one should make sure if one's cartridge is built for refilling before deciding to undergo the process. Refilling toner cartridges is a task that you can conveniently choose to do yourself. Cheap and easy to use kits are available that allow you to refill your own empty printer cartridges. Most kits come with attached instructions; however, the following steps can be useful if one holds a keen interest and skill in refilling:

Soldering Kit

Be sure to purchase a toner kit that comes with packaged toner bottles, and a soldering iron (used to make a hole) that comes with a cutting tip. For most of the cartridges, refilling is quite easy by the "unplug and pour" option. However, some companies make it difficult to refill the cartridges since they earn most by selling the cartridges. The popular HP and Canon cartridges are some of the examples of such printers Use a soldering iron to create a hole in your used toner cartridge or remove the plug with the help of pliers.
Shake the toner bottle well, it helps toner flows quickly. Remove the cap and break the seal of the toner bottle. Now you can easily pour the toner powder in the cartridge via the hole you created. Be careful to leave an air space while pouring the toner.
Wipe off any extra toner spilled at the outside of the hole carefully with the duster and seal the hole back with any plastic or rubber grommet. It will help prevent any leakage in the future.

Make sure that you get a toner refill kit that comes with a tightly fitted seal to close the hole you might have made to avoid leaks inside the machine.

2. Recycle
Even though refilling your used cartridge will help you save money, another way will help you save money in an easy way. One can carefully get rid of a used toner cartridges by selling them to a remanufacturing company. Many remanufacturers of toner cartridges have set up websites to make access easier for those willing to sell used toner/inkjet cartridges. These companies will either pay you directly for the used toner cartridges or offer you discounted prices on new toner cartridges. There is a common misconception amongst people that remanufactured toner cartridges contain poor quality toner powder that hinders the printing process but that is not the case.

3. Set Up a Home Business
Taking the above points into consideration should allow your creative juices to flow and introduce endless ideas about how to deal with used toner cartridges. For example: you could be your own recycling agency. Collect your own empty cartridges and encourage others to do the same. Call up your neighbours and tell them to drop off their used toner cartridges at your place and to spread the word about your mini recycling agency. Once you have a considerable amount of empty toner cartridges you could either take them to an established recycling agency yourself or better yet, refill them. Although refilling a large number of used toner cartridges will take up a lot of your time, you can make a considerable amount of money by selling them back to your neighbours for a profit!

4. Discarding
If your cartridges can't be recycled (due to some damage or already recycled multiple times), you shouldn't through them in the garbage because printer cartridges contain Carbon Black which is classified as carcinogenic. There are recycling companies specialised in discarding toxic materials, you should send your cartridges to them.

The above steps were just a few possible notions presented to you to help instigate you clear your basement or attic from all the used toner cartridges. Hopefully, you will be inspired to apply such greener practices when it comes to these printing complements.

Step by Step Solar Energy Classes

Solar power systems for home come in a wide variety of types and sizes. One of the first things you'll need to know is exactly how you'll be using your free energy. The PV cells of a solar array absorb the sun's ultraviolet rays and convert that energy into electric current... but that doesn't mean you can use it right away. The 'juice' created by the photovoltaic process is direct current (DC) and needs to be changed to alternating current (AC) before it can be used for your household electric needs. This requires the use of an inverter. There are some uses for DC current within the household, but most solar power in homes consists of electricity that's been already transformed into a more standard usable form.

Soldering Kit

The next thing to consider is how you'll be gathering this free, clean, renewable energy from the sun! When most people think of home solar heating panels they think of those great big monstrosities that used to clutter rooftops back in the 70's and 80's. Those ugly eyesores did little to promote the industry, and if anything they hurt the image of solar energy for decades to come. Luckily in today's world, advances in PV cell technology have made it so that you can harness the sun's rays in a multitude of new ways.

Soldering Kit

Rooftop solar panels installation is much simpler, easier, and a LOT more attractive these days! Panels are smaller and better looking, and they can be mounted flush to the roofline. Solar shingles are another way to go... you can build entire home photovoltaic systems that look the same as asphalt shingles or ceramic glazed roofing. By tiling the top of your home with thousands of these tiny cells, you can harness free green energy year-round. These systems go up easily with just a few solar panel installation classes, and in a few days or even hours you can begin lowering your electric bills while making the planet a cleaner place to live.

Solar heaters for pools are another popular do it yourself project. You can install a diy solar pool heater in just a matter of hours, saving you hundreds of dollars over the summer in pool heating costs. Either the sun warms water in an insulated tank, or a vacuum tube system is utilized to make the most of the day's UV rays. Water tanks can also be used in the home - for showers, dishwashers, washing machines, or anywhere hot water is required.

You can even take solar energy classes that will instruct you on the guidelines of step by step solar system setup. From determining the angle of installation to drilling the struts that will support the array, one of the best ways to learn is through watching home solar panel kit videos. The visuals and knowledge obtained by learning from these videos will give you the confidence to begin solar panels installation on any scale project, small or large. You don't have to have previous experience with any type of green energy - the instructions are all that you need.

And when it comes to installation, usually only a few small tools are required: a laser level, a chalkline, a drill and a socket set. In most cases connectors will snap together, but you may also need a soldering gun. The hardware that comes with a home solar power kit is designed to attach to the backs of your PV panels and then be bolted or clamped right to the mounting struts. In many cases these mounts will be adjustable so you can tilt them toward the sun no matter which month it is. This allows you to maximize your solar exposure as the sun changes position (relative to your roof) throughout the year.

Dollhouse Electrical Systems

The enduring image of a dollhouse is as a child's plaything, something that can be enjoyed and played with throughout adolescence. The image of the dollhouse is also a basic one, and some modern dollhouse manufacturers see no harm in making little but a box of plastic in which one inserts mismatched furniture. While this may achieve the purpose, these items are undoubtedly lacking in aesthetic qualities.

Soldering Kit

Luckily, the art of the dollhouse has been preserved. For many, what separates the nice but nevertheless expendable dollhouse for children from a dollhouse any adult can be proud of is the use of electrical systems. This is an extremely complex and arduous process, but the end result - of, essentially, a real miniature house in every way possible - is thrilling. Installing a working electrical system into a dollhouse gives it an extra edge, and also serves the dual purpose of removing the association with the cheap and cheerful dollhouses that can be purchased at any high street toy store. A dollhouse with working electrics requires dedication, and becomes a representation of both fun and skill.

Soldering Kit

Installing an electrical system in a dollhouse is not, as some would expect, a pleasure exclusive to electricians. There have been many innovative inventions in recent years that allow anyone, even if they have no electrical usage experience, to install a wiring system in a dollhouse. These wiring kits, as they are often called, are specifically designed for novices and usually require use of simple hand tools that can be found around the house to install. There is also no risk of serious electric shock, as in most cases the voltage used is actually too low to cause any harm to humans. This fact gives the added benefit of being comfortable and confident when fiddling with electricity.

One of the most popular wiring kits on the market is called Cir-Kit, and can be found at specialist retailers or on the internet. Cir-Kit essentially works by allowing the maker to stick wires where they are needed and created electrical connections. Though the ideas of sticking a wire to the wall of your dollhouse may not be appealing, the wires are so thin and the tape so easily disguised that, when the circuits have been decorated over or around, one would need a magnifying glass to spot them. With the Cir-Kit, absolutely no electrical soldering is required whatsoever - put the wire where you need it, trim it when you need to, and finish a connection easily with the supplied brass tacks.

The Cir-Kit is the modern equivalent to the most traditional methods of obtaining an electrical system in a dollhouse. These original electrical systems are referred to as the Round Wire system, which involves a direct wiring system that goes straight to each fixture, or the Tape Wire system which is more akin to the conventional system in a normal house and wires a perimeter. These require a little more electrical knowledge, but are less expensive.

Whichever system you choose, never set the voltage about 12, as this can fuse the small wires and also take the electricity to a dangerous current if for some reason you come in to contact with it. The final advice is that you should seriously consider investing in a magnifying mirror; working with tiny wires can be very frustrating, and this will ease some of the problems. The end result, however, will be stunning, so do try and persevere even when irritated seemingly to the point of giving up.

The Dangers of Pursuing Stained Glass Item Preparation As a Hobby

Preparing stained glass items is a really exciting hobby that can be learnt without much problem. You can keep taking up more and more complex assignments as you get increasingly conversant with the basic steps of making stained glass supplies. The last attribute is what helps to keep the hobby as interesting even after years since you start taking it up as a hobby.

Soldering Kit

Unfortunately this hobby of making stained patterns suffers from some inherent risks. It is not like you can not manage the risk. However you must be aware of the risks that are involved so that you can actively guard yourself against such problems.

Soldering Kit

The most important issue with working with any glass is the inherent risk of injury. It does not take some complex algorithm to realize that any task involving extensive work with glass will be prone to injuries. All most all steps of preparation of glass items like handling of glass inventory, cutting of glass, putting it together etc expose you to potential of injury. The best protection against this risk is general awareness and working with a consciousness of this potential problem. Please be careful while walking around the room where you practice the craft. Definitely ensure that you have all your items in one particular room. Most importantly, if you have kids at home then please keep this room locked and ensure that kids do not even get near any of these glass objects.

Some types of stained glass have got a lead content. Lead poisoning is one of the most dangerous events to happen to anyone especially pregnant women. It can lead to miscarriage or malformed babies. That is why always insist on working with lead free glass and lead free soldering iron. The risk gets enhanced if you take up restoration of any old stained glass items. Most of the old stained glass windows have got lead content and most dangerously this lead has been converted into powder form in a number of cases. As a result the lead can cause some serious damage by getting inside your body through air.

Finally some basic tips about good house keeping will go a long way in reducing the risk involved with working with stained glass. Keep the work area as clean as possible and dispose off any waste material as soon as they are generated. The space should receive good natural light for a better sight which will reduce risk of accident. Finally educate everyone in your family about potential issues and how to avoid them.

DIY Solar Panels - 3 Important Skills Needed

Many hobbyists find it easy to make DIY solar panels. Sadly, this is not true for everyone who aspires to build one. They find it difficult to build things from scratch and often stumble over obstacles in the midst of their project. I have made some observations and found many reasons why this is so. The major factor that contributes to this is they lack basic DIY skills.

Soldering Kit

Trying to build a photovoltaic panel without basic skills is akin to a man who tries to be a painter without knowing the basic techniques of handling a brush... or toddler trying to cycle without developing a sense of balance. It is bound to be difficult -- at least initially.

Soldering Kit

There are 3 essential skills necessary to build your own DIY photovoltaic panels. They are (1) handling of tools, (2) soldering and (3) a practical knowledge of electrical circuits. Knowing how to handle materials is important. Whether you build photovoltaic panels using wood or metal, you have to understand how to manipulate the materials to shape them into the design you want.

This implies you have to know how to handle simple hand (or power) tools. Then you can cut the material or bend them. You'll also need to finish (polish) the surface and edges so the burrs and jagged edges can be removed.

Inside solar panels are row after rows of electrical connections that have to be made by soldering. Therefore you also need to learn how to use a soldering iron to bond metallic joints. Bad solder joints can cause unnecessary resistance in the electrical circuit, lowering the effectiveness of your energy production. Fortunately this is a skill that can be acquired easily - often within 15 minutes or less.

Having a good working knowledge of how electronics work can be helpful. You do not necessarily need to design your solar panel from scratch, but you will need to know how to implement the circuit design recorded on paper. It will also be useful to know some elementary electronics formula so you can size your solar panel system. Again, this knowledge is easily acquired if you take some time to read up.

Basic formula that are needed for building electronic circuits can be easily found on the Internet or in your local library. Moreover there are also many books on homemade solar panels in bookstores that can help you with these basics. Equipped with the above DIY skills, you can be assured that building DIY solar panels can become a rewarding hobby.

Old School Auto Body Repair & Leading

Until the 60's most all metal straightening was accomplished with the use of a pick hammer, a body file and a solder box containing the proper elements and tools. The metal used by auto manufactures before the 80's was of the cold roll variety with a gauge of 14 to 16 and was very malleable, making it rather soft, easy to shape and straighten with the use of the pick hammer and dolly. A sharp body file was then applied to cut the metal to a smooth finish and to bring out the high and low places.

Soldering Kit

Where the metal may be a little thin or rough to pick, the the body solder (leading) would be applied. This also is where the final finishing will take place with the body file plus more picking to assure a smooth flat surface.

Soldering Kit

Where soldering is needed the metal must be perfectly clean. All paint must be removed and all rust or other contaminates are removed with the use of a torch for heat and Mauriac acid. (Do not inhale the fumes). An electric drill, air drill or wire brush are also handy to remove contaminants.

The solder must be a 30/70 composition. The 30% tin is needed for tinning the metal and acts as a binding agent so the lead would adhere to the metal surface. Tinning the area where the solder was to be applied was accomplished with the use of a acetylene torch, soldering salts, a stick of solder and a rag.

The area to which the solder is to be added must be perfectly cleaned, solder salts applied then heated hot enough to melt the solder. while keeping the area hot, use a rag to wipe the solder over the entire area to be soldered. Now you are tinned and ready to add more solder to the tinned area as a filler.

When adding the solder, a wooden paddle is used to spread the solder over the surface. The surface of paddle must be dipped occasionally in heated bees wax to stop the solder from sticking to the paddle.

Soldering is only used when the straightening could not be accomplished with the pick, dolly, and file. Now, what do you think, are you ready to give it a try? You can do it, God did not make any dummies, "Its better to try and fail than to never try at all'. I invite your comments or questions. Please, I would love to hear from you. Lem

How to Refill "No-Fill Hole" Toner Cartridges

There are different methods employed in the replenishment of a cartridge's toner supply. Some cartridges require only the removal of the fill plug to access the toner chamber. Other cartridges, particularly the melt and pour types, are not designed with a fill hole. Therefore, a refill tool is required to create a fill hole and gain access to the toner chamber. The fill hole serves as an access point to the waste chamber and as inlet hole for the toner chamber.

Soldering Kit

An example of a melt and pour toner cartridge is the HP Q6000A, which loads the HP 1600, 2600, 2600N and 2605 laser printers. To administer the replenishment of the cartridge's toner supply, the process is outlined as follows:

Soldering Kit

First of all, purchase a refill tool, which is an improved version of a soldering iron with a cylindrical copper tip that is 18mm to 20mm in diameter (instead of the usual conical tip). When plugged to the electrical outlet, the copper tip heats-up sufficiently to allow the carving of a hole on the polymer surface of the toner cartridge. This is a one-time purchase of around because the refill tool can still be utilized in subsequent refills. To proceed with replenishment, secure a compatible refill product such as the HP 2600 toner refill kit. The compatible consumable is retailed at .95 and rated for the same yield as the OEM cartridge. Upon receipt of the package, check the contents and verify if all the tools pertinent to the refill are supplied with the kit; which includes 1 bottle of replacement toner powder, a pair of latex gloves, toner wipes, funnel cap and the instruction manual. Always conduct refills in a properly ventilated and lighted area. If possible work on a workbench or a table with a trash bin nearby. Line portions of the table and floor space underneath with old newspapers. This is just a precautionary measure in the event of toner spills, which rarely happens. Place the empty cartridge on the table and mark the precise location of the hole. Read the instruction manual for reference. Retrieve the refill tool, place it on the tool stand and plug the device to an electrical outlet. The device should be left to heat-up for 3 to5 minutes. Grab the handle of the now heated refill tool and vertically aim the tip over the marked spot. Push down the refill tool gently over the polymer casing and carve a hole to reveal the toner chamber. Withdraw the refill tool, place it back on the tool stand, unplug the devise and let it cool down. Inspect the hole, retrieve whatever loose plastic material found inside the chamber and dump old toner (whatever is left) into the trash bin. If necessary use a toner vacuum to completely relieve the chamber of toner residues. Next pour in the replacement toner - screw on the funnel cap over the rim of the toner bottle and let toner flow freely into the toner chamber. Using toner wipes, clean the cartridge's surface from toner residues. Seal the fill hole with duct tape or electrical tape to avoid toner leaks. Open the cavity housing the lockout chip, retrieve the old chip and set in place the new reset chip.

This completes the refill process. But before loading the cartridge back to the printer, it needs a little shake to distribute toner evenly. The toner cartridge can now be loaded to the printer and run a test print. The ensuing printouts should be clear crisp and razor sharp as expected from a compatible HP 2600 toner refill kit, similar to the OEM toner.

Building Your Own Homemade Solar Panels - What it Takes

Building your own homemade solar panels may not be as hard as you think. There are various vendors you can go to - either in stores within your area or through some sources on the Internet - that sell ready solar power kits.

Soldering Kit

Something you should know before you start buying a solar kit is that there are two types. One system is used to create heat alone and the other is used to generate electricity.

Soldering Kit

It does not take that much knowledge to understand how they work except that you have to understand that it collects certain light wavelengths through photo-voltaic cells, and that it needs to be exposed to sunlight to be able to gather power to be stored in the battery cells. If direct sunlight is impeded, then it takes longer for the solar cells to collect energy from the sun. That is why when you are installing these panels, make sure that they have a direct view of the sun, and that they are not covered by tree branches or any other obstructions.

Tapping on the sun as an energy resource is a good choice of an alternative source of power because it is clean and renewable. Not only does it save a lot off your electric bill each month, it is also safer and cleaner for the environment.

You will find all the necessary items required to put up your panel system in the solar kits you purchase. These packages will include the flux, tabbing, a soldering iron, and the photovoltaic cells. They normally would have step-by-step instructions on how to assemble the panels for you to put them up together yourself. The retailer you got it from should also be able to provide you with technical support if you need it. Or if you want, you can log on to some forums over the web that discusses issues that may arise out of assembly and construction.

Another nice thing about these ready kits is that they are modular. In case the system you have put up is below the needs of your power requirement, you can always get another kit to attach to it to increase the capacity of power generation. You should also know that in some states, there are tax reduction laws for households that generate green energy systems like these, so it is really beneficial for everybody and the environment to use such systems.

Homemade solar panels are a good choice for alternative energy generation because they can give you all these advantages and are affordable at the same time. Still, if you find that these kits are priced way above your budget, a low-cost alternative is to purchase ready guides online that show you exactly how to purchase all the equipment needed at cheap prices and how to assemble them.

The Best Plumbing Tools to Own

When it comes to plumbing it seems that an over flowing tool box full of tools could be a very reasonable possibility. There are specialty tools as well as common tools that seem to be a bit overwhelming when it comes time to start your collection of plumber tools. With that in mind, it seems that a guide covering which tools are imperative to have if you plan on doing any plumbing work around your home. Rather than running to your local hardware or home improvement store and just randomly add tools, let's take a step back for a second and define what tools are absolutely required.

Soldering Kit

Basic plumbing tools that are imperative

Soldering Kit

No matter what type of plumbing you do you will need to have a basic set of tools to make it a reality. For this basic set let's assume that you have no reason to want to solder any pipes or similar. Just take care of the basic plumbing tasks that come up often anywhere running water is a reality. To that end, let's run through the basic things to add to your toolbox. Thankfully, many of these tools are likely part of your normal around the house toolbox. A pair of crescent wrenches is a good start. Some people prefer channel locks or similar, but I think that the crescent wrench allows adjusting and a solid back drop for screwing and unscrewing plumbing fixtures that have plenty of room around them. From here a pipe cutter is a staple of plumbing tool boxes around the world. A basin wrench is great for those hard to reach places that make it literally impossible to screw on and off plumbing fixtures with normal wrenches. A roll of Teflon tape is needed to ensure water tightness in some connection. A small hack saw is the final piece of the basic plumbing set that will get you through the majority of basic plumbing that will come your way.

Plumbing tools needed if you plan to be soldering pipe

Now, if you plan on being sweating and soldering pipe there will be a few other things that you need to ensure you are ready for your plumbing projects. A soldering kit is a necessity. Make sure that it has a torch of course (propane gas works fine, but MAPP gas will help a lot if you are willing to spend a few extra dollars). In addition it needs to have solder (silver colored roll stock) and flux (it will be in a container that looks like lip gloss). Not normally included in these soldering kits is some industrial sandpaper or similar to rough up the copper piping for sweating. An adjustable wrench is nice to have for holding loose copper pipe you are sweating, but is not an absolute must.
If you add the above list of tools to your arsenal, you should be ready to handle all the basic plumbing problems that come your way. I personally keep them in a separate tool box in my basement so that I can go and grab them all at once when I know I am going to be working on plumbing.

How To Make Stained Glass

To make stained glass, you will first need to get the tools and materials ready. You'll need a worktable and a few tools. These will include a glasscutter for cutting the glass, pliers, shears, and soldering iron.

Soldering Kit

The first thing that you'll need is a pattern for cutting the glass. Make the pattern on tracing paper and cut out the templates. It's a good idea to make two copies of the pattern so that you can use one copy to cut the templates and the other copy to place on the work piece to see how it fits. You can also directly draw the patterns on to the glass using a ball pen.

Soldering Kit

Place the pattern pieces on the glass, using an adhesive to secure them in place. Cut the glass along the lines of the pattern. Cutting takes care. If necessary, practice on waste glass. Going back over a cut should be avoided, as this would damage the wheel. Gently tap or pull to separate the pieces.

After cutting, the edges of the pieces should be ground or rubbed with emery paper to make them smooth. Place the pieces according to the pattern and ensure that they fit together properly.

The next step is to cut and fit strips of lead around the cut glass pieces. Ensure that there are no gaps between lead joints.

The next step is to solder the pieces. Clean the joints and apply flux to the joints. Solder the pieces with the soldering iron. First solder one side of the panel and then turn it around and solder the other side.

Finally, the panel needs to be thoroughly cleaned. Use a suitable cleaning medium and a scrubbing brush to clean and polish the surface so that it looks sparkling clean. You may also want to or have to paint the stained glass piece.
